I *was Served - Veteran's Day Shirt

On 11 November 1918, the allied forces defeated the Central Powers. This was known as Armistice Day.

On 4 June 1926, Congress requested that the President our forefather's accomplishments and sacrifice by annual proclamation. The President did so.

On 13 May 1938, Congress passed a law declaring the 11th of November a legal holiday.

On 1 June 1954, Congress amended the law to reflect that the day be known as "Veteran's Day."

On 11 November 1954, a veteran received a free hamburger, and a tradition was established.
